Dating back to Roman times, the Pont du Gard, a stone aqueduct bridge, was built by the Romans to supply Nimes with water and remains one of the most visited monuments in Provence. Dating back to the 1st century, it is one of the best-preserved aqueducts built during the Roman Empire and is truly impressive in size. Continue on to Les Baux de Provence, a picturesque medieval village situated on a rocky spur of the Alpilles. With its pedestrianised historic centre and surrounded by olive groves producing a renowned olive oil, Les Baux de Provence is well worth a visit.
