Your North Beach walking tour starts at Washington Square Park, the city’s first public park. Learn about its role after the 1906 earthquake and fire, and admire the vintage lampposts and Coit Tower in the distance.

- Bags larger than 16 in x 20 in are not allowed on Alcatraz Island
- Pets are not allowed, except service dogs

- Over-sized packs and luggage are not permitted. There are also no storage lockers at Pier 33
- The contour of Alcatraz Island is rugged and steep. The distance between the dock and Alcatraz prison is about 1/4 mile (.4km), and the elevation change is 130 ft (40 m)
- Sustainable Easy Access Transport (S.E.A.T.) is available to those with mobility impairment
- Consuming food is only allowed at picnic areas
- Meet your guide at Washington Square, beside the Volunteer Firemen Memorial located at 600 Columbus Ave, San Francisco, CA 94133
