Your afternoon will then be dedicated to discovering Mont-Saint-Michel, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. You begin your visit by strolling through the picturesque streets of the famous Abbey. With your entrance ticket, which will be given to you by your tour leader, you will visit, at your own pace, this magnificent Benedictine building dating back to the 8th century. Developed in Gothic style and dedicated to the archangel St. Michael, the Abbey houses a superb cloister, suspended between the sky and the sea. The arches of the galleries are supported by columns in staggered rows, which let in more light and airiness. Behind the cloister, you will arrive at the impressive refectory, where the monks gather for their silent meals.
After your visit to the Abbey, be sure to walk the streets the length of the ramparts, which offer sensational views across the bay. The incredible view, stretching across the sand surrounding the rock, will take your breath away. You can also take advantage of your time here to taste some specialties of the Mont (the famous Breton crepes, for example), visit the souvenir shops, attend some events of the country and, if time permits, visit some museums.
Departure from Mont-Saint-Michel is scheduled for approximately 4.30pm, arriving at our agency in Paris around 9.45pm.
