The Park

The Natura Viva park in Bussolengo, located on the shores of Lake Garda in the province of Verona, is a modern zoological garden and an important centre for the conservation of endangered species.

With its 42 hectares of woodland, the park hosts the largest Italian zoological collection within the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums), with over 1500 animals belonging to 250 different species.

When visiting the park, you can explore two areas: the Africa Safari, to be explored by car, where you can experience the unique emotion of a real African safari and observe lions, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and many other animals up close. The Faunistic park, to be visited on foot immersed in the woods, hosts various thematic areas that represent the ecosystems of the five continents. Here, you can admire animal species such as Siberian tigers, snow leopards, chimpanzees, vultures and lemurs, many of which are at risk of extinction. Also not to be missed is the "House of Dragon", the greenhouse that hosts giant and dwarf species from all over the world, including the fascinating Komodo dragon, and the "Jurassic Adventure", a journey back in time through 35 faithful reproductions of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, to relive the emotion of a lost era.

Research and conservation are among the primary objectives of the Natura Viva park, which today has 109 scientific publications and organizes and supports 35 conservation projects in different parts of the world. Environmental dissemination and education are also fundamental, with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of conservation, also thanks to talks with biologists, educational activities and the many themed events held in the park.
