Description

Explore the beauty and charm of ancient Pompeii during this tour lasting approximately 2 hours.

The itinerary will be as follows:

- The Forum is the hub of the city's daily life and is the focal point of all the main public buildings for city administration and justice, business management and commercial activities, such as markets, as well as the main places of worship of the citizens.

- The Macellum consists of a tuff quadriportico with a room for worship in an elevated position on the eastern side, in line with the entrance. On the niches of the side wall there are copies of two marble statues, one female and one armed male, together with the fragment of a larger statue, probably belonging to an emperor, Titus or Vespasian, which indicates that this area was intended for imperial cult. On the left a room for meetings of a sacred table and on the right a large room with a brick counter perhaps for selling fish.
- Via dell'Abbondanza was the main street (decumanus maximus)...
