Palmitos Park is a sub-tropical oasis located in a lush valley full of palm trees, where you can admire over 200 species of exotic birds including toucans, hummingbirds, peacocks, ibises, flamingos, hornbills and parrots, as well as an aquarium, a house of butterflies, a cactus garden and an orchid house. The botanical gardens and zoo are among the most important of their kind in the world, counting hundreds of birds, dozens of mammals, reptiles and thousands of fish, as well as thousands of palm trees, cacti and other plants, and represent one of the main attractions of Gran Canaria.
You cannot leave without admiring the largest collection of orchids in the Canary Islands. The orchid house recreates the natural habitat of these beautiful flowers. Also in the cactus garden you can see an impressive collection of aloes and cacti, with some truly amazing specimens.
Palmitos Park is also home to Gran Canaria's only dolphinarium, where you will enjoy the extravagances of these impressive mammals in a spectacular setting. The Aquarium is home to a large variety of tropical fish, including the most important collection of coral reef inhabitants in Europe.
Plus, you can admire a collection of colorful salt and freshwater fish of all shapes and sizes, in the reproduction of a tropical river. One of our newest attractions is Primate Island, where you can see gibbons (successfully bred in captivity for the first time in the Park) and orangutans.
