Astronomers Take Over is a new interactive experience at the National Maritime Museum , designed for families, curious people, and space enthusiasts of all ages. This engaging exhibition allows you to meet real astronomers, participate in live science demonstrations, and discover the wonders of the Universe through hands-on, interactive activities.
Explore areas dedicated to Mars , the Moon and the stars , try landing a spacecraft on a Martian crater, experiment with spectroscopy and enter the incredible Galaxy Box to experience the vastness of space in an immersive experience.
With so much to discover, it's the ideal experience for anyone fascinated by space, science, and great discoveries.

What is there to know?
Important information:
- Strollers are not permitted inside Astronomers Take Over. A designated stroller storage area is available outside the Voyagers Gallery, in the Sammy Ofer wing.
- The experience is conducted exclusively in English . A good knowledge of the language is therefore recommended.
- Planetarium shows are not included in the ticket price. Planetarium tickets can be purchased separately on-site, subject to availability.
- Visitors requiring a free ticket for a companion for accessibility reasons can email bookings@rmg.co.uk to arrange this.
- The National Maritime Museum has accessible restrooms. All cafes, exhibitions, and gift shops are wheelchair accessible.
- All restrooms and baby changing areas are also accessible.

Join Sir Brian May and visual artist and astrophotographer JP Metsävainio to discover how technology has changed the way we observe the Universe. Walk inside the spectacular Galaxy Box and immerse yourself in the vastness of our galaxy.
Star Huddle
Meet Liz Avery, Head of Astronomy at the Royal Observatory, and her team to find out what it really means to say we're all made of stardust. Try using a spectroscope, an instrument that analyzes starlight and uncovers its secrets.
