Highlights
A complete experience in one of the most fascinating areas of Tuscany, known throughout the world for its wine and its countryside of unparalleled charm, where woods alternate with vineyards and olive groves, in a landscape dotted with Romanesque parish churches, farmhouses, villas and castles of rare beauty. The first stop on the tour is in the heart of the Florentine Chianti Classico, in a small and welcoming winery.
Here, guided by the owner, you will discover the secrets of winemaking and enjoy a delicious tasting of the best wines produced, accompanied by local products.
The tour then continues to the picturesque medieval village of Greve, birthplace of the famous navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano, where the most important wine fair in the Chianti region takes place every year. Here we will have free time to admire the famous main square with its characteristic porticos and to browse among the local artisan shops. Traveling along the historic "Via Chiantigiana" you will cross the Sienese Chianti Classico area, admiring the breathtaking views of the rolling hills that have made this part of Tuscany famous, before reaching a family-run winery, which stands out for the excellent quality of its wines. Here you will be warmly welcomed by its passionate winemaker and, after the guided tour of the cellars and the lovely aromatic garden, a delicious tasting of four different wines and local products awaits you. The last stop of the tour is Castellina (*), a fortified hilltop village of Etruscan origin, among the liveliest and most picturesque in Chianti, characterized by an imposing fortress: here, along the picturesque medieval covered street Via delle Volte, the tour leader will guide us to discover the charming historic center and its picturesque houses, squares and shops. Please note that the order of visits may change (*) From November to March, the itinerary does not include the stop in Castellina and the return to Florence is anticipated by about 30 minutes.
