We will start by visiting the Palatine Gallery, a museum housed in Palazzo Pitti in Florence which is part, together with the Boboli Gardens, of the Uffizi Galleries, and then move to the Royal Apartments (temporarily closed).
Housed within the architectural complex, the Palatine Gallery is located on the main floor, divided into 28 rooms and houses a famous setting: the "picture gallery" of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, a unique setting of its kind as it respects the taste of past centuries , with the paintings placed in several rows, selected by decorative criteria, and not by period and schools.
You can admire the famous private collection of the Medici family in their last residence, which includes important masterpieces by Botticelli, Titian, Rubens, Caravaggio and many other Italian and European painters from the 15th to the 17th century.
You will discover the history of the Palace and its inhabitants from the Medici family, to the Lorraine to the King of Italy, as Florence was the residence of the King when it became the capital of Italy, for 5 years, from 1865 to 1870.
